MEDICAL HISTORY: Evaluate 3D size of talus osteochondral lesion - potential preop COMPARISON: None. TECHNIQUE: Axial thin slice acquisition of the left ankle was performed without administration of IV contrast.. Multiplanar images were reconstructed from the original data. DOSAGE: Total exam DLP: 305.3 mGy-cm. CTDIvol (max): 14.8 mGy. Number of acquisitions at maximal CTDIvol: 1. Dose reduction was performed with automated exposure control, iterative reconstruction technique and/or adjustment of the mA and/or kV for patient size. FINDINGS: A predominantly lucent lesion along the the upper medial aspect of the talus is noted, measuring approximately 1.5 x 1.2 cm in diameter. Internal cystic changes and surface irregularity are present. Fixation of the medial malleolus with screws is noted without evidence of complications. Alignment of the joint is anatomic. Mild degenerative changes of the midfoot joints and subtalar joints are present. Soft tissue is unremarkable in constraint of current exam. IMPRESSION: A 1.5 x 1.2 cm subchondral lesion the upper medial aspect of the talus with internal cystic changes and joint surface irregularity. See the result of outside MR examination for further detail
